The race day will start at 7:30 with Registration and Pre-Tech, driver's meeting at 8:30 and practice/qualifying starting at 9:00. We run two sessions of practice/qualifying and fast time from those sessions sets the grid for our Heat #1. Heat #2 will come next and that grid is based on the finish of Heat #1, with an invert of the first four. Finally, we'll finish the day with a "Winner Takes All" main event. The grid for the main is based on combined points from Heat 1 and Heat 2. Registration will be available at the track on Friday and Saturday (times TBD) so you'll have plenty of opportunity to register before Sunday and avoid the line! If you have any questions, please check with Reno or Cindy at the track, or email cindy@bluemaxkartclub.com by 6:00 Saturday. See you at the track! 02/05/07 - A BIG THANK YOU! TRACK IMPROVEMENTS: The board of directors is pleased that we have reinstated a lease with the City of Davis and looks forward to track and facility improvements in 2007. To help support and finance the improvements, a modest increase in membership fees will take place. Memberships purchased by the banquet on January 13, 2007 will be $250, and memberships purchased after the banquet will be $280. This is still, by far, the lowest cost racing you'll find. Remember that this fee will get you a key to the track and you can practice at no additional fee six days a week. The track is open 9 am to 6 pm every day except Wednesday - and its yours for this very modest fee!
RACE GEAR: A limited supply of our first order of Blue Max shirts is still available. We're getting ready to place another order so we'll have more shirts, and even sweatshirts available for sale. We have decals available, and we'll also have hats available at our next race, so there's a great variety of merchandise available for purchase. We were able to get a great club logo designed this year and are proud to offer it on a wide variety of merchandise. If you have ideas for other items that you'd like to see available, please be sure to let us know.
2007 BOARD OF DIRECTORS: It's time to begin the process of electing the 2007 board of directors. If you'd like to serve on next year's board, or if there's someone you'd like to nominate for the 2007 board, please send an email to cindy@bluemaxkartclub.com. We'll gather a list of nominees for the upcoming election. Look for ballots along with banquet and year-end information coming in the mail to you in October.

Practice on Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6 will be controlled, but open to everyone. The race on Sunday will bring vintage carts from all across the country to Blue Max-a great site to see! Blue Max club racers will be at Prairie City racing at our cross-over, so the impact will be minimal. The barriers are blue and white and enhance the professional look of our track while providing significant improvements in both safety and durability. To support the club and help defray the cost, we are offering our members and friends an opportunity to have a barrier personalized. We can use your name and kart number, a dedication to a sponsor, or just about anything... The cost is $50, and you can even designate the location on the track. Contact Cindy at 916 689-3445 For more information.
Blue Max hosted the Banquet this year at the Holiday Inn Select in Fairfield on Saturday Jan. 14, 2006 along with Kinsmen Kart Club - Dixon. The evening started out with Reception and Cocktail hour at 6 pm, followed by the Buffett Dinner at 7:20 with the awards and raffles filling in the evening. Steve Lammerding once again did a super job as MC for the evening, and the awards were kept interesting by alternating between the clubs. Tyler Glenn, Rick Fields, and Karen Williams did an exceptional job as Raffle Coordinators for Davis and the Dixon Club also had generous donations for this event. Table decorations were unique as Melanie Miller provided pictures of the drivers through the year. Video presentation was a joint effort of both Mark Robinson and Melanie Miller's photography done throughout the year at both tracks. Class Winners and Engine/Tire WinnersAll participants in this class received an award, they are Steven Johnson #41, Johannes Bachmann #8, Tucker Dunbar #97, Colvin Daley #15, Amanda Vogt #4, Alex Halford # 20, Cameron Daley #6, and James Weninger #74 and Deven Sanchez was the winner of the drawing for the KT 100 Engine. and Melissa U'Ren was the winner of the drawing for the KT100 Engine. and Carlos Masareje was the winner of the drawing for the KT100 Engine. and Todd Wallace Jr. was the winner of the drawing for the KT100 Engine. Jim Rose #47, was awarded a trophy, for his persistence and dedication in staying with this class the entire season even when the competition was virtually non-existent. and Elliott Clark was the winner of a set of tires suitable for his class. and Frank Levengood was the winner of a set of tires suitable for his class. and Dave Boles was the winner of a set of tires suitable for his class. Billie Halbasch for all her years of being Track Guardian Angle/Nurse, Board Member, surrogate mom, good friend and confident, you name it, Billie has filled those shoes. She has been Blue Max's Racing Angel for so long, and it is going to be sad to not see her there anymore. A second entry gate has been constructed and is to be locked at all times, your key will open this gate. Also a lock will be installed at the Playground, again your key will open this. We are trying to secure the track area and keep our improvements in the best shape possible for our members. The City of Davis has been leaving the main gate opened and it compromises our area. Effective October 2004, Blue Max Kart Club will be holding the regular monthly meeting at Cantina del Cabo, located at 139 G Street, in Downtown Davis. Meeting day and time remains the 1st Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Hope to see more of our members there. |
